Blu Sands Beach Resort Experience

Me and my Husband Karl had this huge argument so to ease up the tension, i decided to just walk away for a little while to calm myself. When things started to get better, my husband called me and said "You know what? Lets go somewhere far from here. Lets do the things we used to do back when we were still dating" oh diba? sweet! So i said "Sure! Maybe that's what we really need right now. A short break from life!"

Then that's it, we went to Blu Sands Beach Resort right away since i heard so many good reviews about the resort from friends. It is located at Tubigan, Initao, Misamis Oriental. It is around 45mins to 1 hour drive from Iligan City. Yes, i know it is a bit far but we dont mind it at all.

We arrived at Blu Sands at exactly 8:30 PM last April 3, 2016. We were welcomed by their friendly receptionist and asked us about the room the we will avail for check-in.

Here are the Room Rates and the Cottage Rates:

This picture was taken from Blu Sands Beach Resort Facebook Page

We chose the Deluxe room for 1,800 pesos with free Breakfast meals for an overnight stay. They said that Blu Sands Beach Resort is a little bit pricey so i wasn't surprised when they told me about their price rates for accommodation.

Here are the pictures from the Deluxe room where we stayed:

Pros:
I like how clean and cozy the room is. The room that we stayed in was a bit bigger from what i have expected. The view from the window is so relaxing, You can watch the pool and the beach by just looking at our room's window. The air conditioner is working great as well as the TV. I was not able to take pictures of their comfort room but i guarantee you all that its clean.

Cons:
Their were no complementary drinks that was given though so we have to buy drinks from their store. Their was no wifi connection as well so if you're that person who just cant stay away from social media for a little while, a pocket wifi or  mobile data is a must have. :)

I was so excited to try their swimming pool after we settled in but we were told that the pool was not available because they have started treating the water. So we just explored the place and went out to the beach to relax.

In the morning we woke up early to enjoy the sunrise and the beach. The place looks so beautiful in the evening but you'll appreciate it more during the day.

After our early stroll around the resort, We went to their small resto to claim our free breakfast meal. As i entered, i was again pleased with its cleanliness and their friendly staffs.

They have a variety of food to choose from. I chose PorkSilog with iced tea and Karl ordered Bacon with bread and egg plus a hot coffee. The view from the resto's window was mesmerizing.

We then tried the Resort's Pool after having a sumptuous breakfast since we only have few more hours before we check out. I was all giddy and excited! I love the water!

Their pool was clean albeit the smell of the chlorine that was used to treat the pool the night before. We had fun swimming and just chit chatting about anything under the sun. There are still a lot of beach activities to choose from but due to our limited time, we were not able to try it.

With a heavy heart, we checked out around 11:30 AM, April 4, 2016. </3 T.T

I jokingly asked my husband if we can stay a little bit longer but with all the work and stuff, we obviously cant. hehehe But it was indeed a great experience. Blu Sands Beach Resort did not disappoint. Hoping to come back here and stay for little longer.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms Review

Hi Guys!

It's no secret that i am a HUGE fan of drugstore lip products and this product is one of those that i am eyeing since i saw it at my local drugstore. Yeah, i know this product has been out in like forever but its not long till i finally have the guts to try it out. The product i am talking about is the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms. Revlon is one of my favorite drugstore brands so i had a high expectation for these babies.

I bought two gorgeous colors that i thought would complement my warm skin tone.

swatches: Audacious and Standout

Audacious is a bright coral tone that suits any skin color. This color is perfect for summer!
Standout is a deep vampy red.

I love the plastic pencil packaging. It makes the product so catchy and easy to apply. You just have to twist it up and directly apply the product by gently gliding it on your lips. The color pay-off is great and the formula is so creamy. It does settle a little bit at the dry area on my lips but its not really not that noticeable though unless you look closely. I suck at exfoliating my lips so my lips are chapped most of the time.

The shades i bought are very pigmented and it can last for a few hours IF you are not eating or drinking. Its not long wearing so you have to re-apply it every now and then. The matte balms doesn't bleed on me and that's a plus!

Here's how the product looks on me:
(FYI, I didnt put any filter in the photos below so that you can really see how the color looks when applied.)

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms: Audacious

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms: Standout

The Verdict:

Will i purchase this product again? Definitely! I am enjoying these lippies so far and i recommend this product line for those who are looking for a lipstick + lip balm  that will make your lips look pretty without over-drying it. The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm only retail for 575.00 pesos at my local drugstores.

So what do you think? Tell me your thoughts if you happen to try these babies out!

Till my next review! :)))

Acne.org - The Regimen Review

Hi Guys!

As promised I will now update my blog often! I will start my come back with a review on acne.org "The Regimen". I hope you'll find this review helpful in someways. So here goes...

I have been experiencing bad, bad acne since i was like 18 years old and it stayed until today. It's horrible, i know, and you can't do nothing about it! I have tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, everything from drugstore acne products to high-end ones. I have gone to the dermatologist to have my skin checked and treated but it ended up disappointing me even more. The procedure was painful and costly. I have been humiliated and mocked with how bad my acne was. Its so painful. VERY PAINFUL.

Last April, i have stumbled upon this website called "acne.org" which featured what they call the "holy grail" of those experiencing severe acne, just like me. I was so intrigued and was so desperate to try it out. And of course, impulsive as i am, i immediately asked my husband and he promptly gave in to my plea(i love you hubby <3). We went directly to their website to order out "The Regimen" not realizing that they only ship within Canada and USA. BOOHOOO!! I am from the Philippines so there's no way i can purchase the product unless i'll ask someone from there to buy it for me. Thank God my Hubby's close friend from Canada helped us! If you're reading this right now, i thank you so much Des! Hehehe

I finally got the product last Monday (May 25, 2015) and immediately tried it out before i went bed as part of my evening routine! I was so excited and anxious but with a little bit of worry that it might not work for me. Before we go to my review and personal experience, here's a picture of what's included in the package:

The whole regimen revolves around using a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide in large amounts along with the gentle cleanser and a thick moisturizer.

Steps in using the products: (these are included in the package BTW.)

First: Use the Cleanser to clean all the impurities and bacteria acquired throughout the day. Use only two pumps and make a great lather before applying it to your wet face. Make sure you only clean your face for 10 seconds. Rinse and pat dry. Take note that you should be very gentle in drying your face.
Second: Wait until 5 to 15 minutes until face is fully dry then apply 2 pumps of 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide in a gentle manner and wait for it to dry.
Third: Again, wait for 5 to 15 minutes until the BP is fully absorbed. Put 2 pumps of moisturizer to your face and wait for it to dry before putting make-up on.

These steps should be done twice a day atleast 10-12 hours apart.

Here's the overview and my review of the products:

Step 1 - Gentle Cleanser
From Acne.org
"When treating acne, it is important to avoid irritation. This generously sized, ultra-gentle liquid cleanser is designed to be pH balanced so it doesn't over-dry or strip the skin. It also produces a thick lather which cleanses just the right amount and rinses clean."

My Review:
I love the cleanser. It is indeed very gentle to my sensitive skin. It doesn't sting and is not painful when applied. You only have to apply it on your face for 10 seconds though and you also need to be very gentle. Dan (the founder of acne.org) emphasized that everything you do using the regimen should be gentle to steer clear from further irritation, since Benzoyl Peroxide itself can really irritate your skin if you are not used to it.

Step 2 - 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide
From Acne.org
"This 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatment is gel-based so it goes on clear and spreads easily. It is pharmaceutical grade, pH balanced, fragrance-free, and dye-free. It won't "clump up" with moisturizers, and won't turn white when you perspire. Studies show that 2.5% benzoyl peroxide works as well as 10% solutions, without the excessive dryness and irritation."

My Review:

The treatment is really strong for my face. It does make my skin really red and sensitive. I cannot even go out as much i want to because i am a bit embarrassed showing the world my red grease ball face. LOL! But I noticed that my acne has been behaving now. No noticeable zits peeking through. I have been using this product for 3 days now and I can really see the difference. Dan said the redness and irritation is normal as you go through the clearing up process. He said, the irritation will only last for about 2 to 3 weeks. I just hope it wont take so long to get rid of this redness. :(

Step 3 - Moisturizer
From Acne.org
"Overly dry skin perpetuates the acne cycle. Since benzoyl peroxide is a drying and peeling agent, it is important to properly re-hydrate the skin. This generously sized, intensely hydrating, non-comedogenic lotion eliminates dry skin and flakiness completely, while soothing acne-prone skin. It goes on clear and absorbs quickly, leaving no residue. It has a super-light feel and is fragrance-free and dye-free. Use it liberally without fear."

My Review:
Okay, last but not the least, the moisturizer! This is a very rich moisturizer! I only put 1 pump of moisturizer to my regimen because my face tends to get so oily! I can't emphasize how oily I get when I put two pumps. My face is not drying up but its still oily. Maybe it will take time for my skin to get accustomed to the regimen but so far the moisturizer is good. It doesn't break me out. It is gentle. Not totally odorless but i can bear the smell. I am really half hearted with their moisturizer but its the part of the regimen so why not?

Right now I am still waiting to see big improvements.I have high hopes for these products. I know consistency and patience is the key to achieve clear skin. So far i am liking "The Regimen" and will continue to use these babies up until they go dry. Lol!

I will definitely update you guys after a month! Stay tuned for that and see you in my next review!

Have a great day!

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Review

Hello Guys!

First of all I wanted to say that I’ve been looking for this product for so long! I’ve heard a lot of good reviews about this product that’s why I wanted to try it for myself. My skin has oily-combination to start with that’s why I am looking for a primer that will help my foundation last longer. Considering the climate here in the Philippines which is way too humid, I think a primer would be a big help especially for those who has oily skin.

I picked this product last Tuesday at a local drugstore. Thank God they already have this one. I think it’s been out in the market for quite a while now. Funny how outdated our local drugstores are. Boo! This product retails for 239 Philippine Pesos only, one of the cheapest primers I guess.

(Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser)

(Gel-like product in a tube container)

The packaging of this product is so cute. Who wouldn’t want to purchase this super adorable tube? The tube is hygienic and very functional too. It will give you enough amount with just one little squeeze without contaminating the rest of the product inside the tube. How convenient!

What it claims:

When used alone:
-Translucent gel formula instantly blurs pores, lines, and creases
-skin looks bare but flawless, imperfections are minimized
When used under make-up
-creates a perfectly smooth canvas so that make-up glides on seamlessly
-Skin Stays Shine-free and even all day
• Translucent and mistake-proof
• Lightweight and breathable
• Oil and fragrance-free
• Non-comedogenic
• Suitable for all skin types.
My Personal Experience
I ran a quick swatch of the product right when I came home, and this is what it looks like when I put it on my hand.

(You can see a little difference in my hands. The pores in my hand which i have the product on is a bit smoother than the hand without the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser)

I like how velvety it feels when you touch it. It does minimize your pores but not to the extent that its pore-less. It’s so smooth and it doesn’t have any obnoxious smell on it. I tried it on my face the other day since you cannot really tell if the product works by just swatch-ing it in your hand, I decided to use it as a primer then. I put my moisturizer on and wait for it to dry before I put the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser on. I applied it to the areas where my oil usually sips through. I put it on my T-Zone to be exact and finished the rest of my make-up. It did make my foundation glide on smoothly. It didn’t make my face totally matte though because I can still see the shine on my forehead and on my cheeks. But maybe my face is just so oily, you know?

I’ve been out for almost 4 hours in a very hot weather and my face feels oily. I decided to go to the nearest wash room to check my face and I was very shocked with how I look. I look like a walking grease ball! HAHAHAHA! and you can see the oil running on the side of my nose and a new zit on my right cheek. How gross is that? LOL! Good thing I have my facial tissue and powder with me.

Maybe I will recommend this product for dry to normal skin because it doesn’t control the oil. I used it for more or less 4 hours and the oil in my T-Zone was just amazing. If you have oily to combination skin, stay away from this product, it will just make you oil more.

Will I purchase this product again?

-NO. Maybe this product isn’t just for me. It doesn’t leave up to what it says on the packaging. It does give you a smooth canvass for foundation but it makes you oil up like crazy, and the worst part is that it gave me zits. So sad.

I hope this review helped you. I’ll see you in the next! Bye :)
